The great salt lake is a place of unearthly, surreal beauty. I don't know if it was the still air or the mineral heavy water, but it seemed to be the most serene body of water i've ever seen. Over the last day's drive i'd been re-discovering the awe inspiring scale of the west. Now i was in a valley that extended well past where i expected the horizon, and inlayed across it's floor was a lifeless mirror stretching for miles.
